7 Months

Carrigan is so full of life. She has such a big personality. When she gets excited, her whole body goes into over drive. She points her elbows out and her arms start to shake. It is too cute!

I would SWEAR her first word is "Bubba." I know it is a common first sound for babies to make, but every time Gavin comes towards her she says it. We have been calling Gavin that since he was still in Mommy's belly so we use it quite often. Gavin loves it! He will repeat it back and forth with her.

Carrigan hates, hates, hates baby food. She gags and gets mad when I try giving her bites. She is more tolerant of rice cereal, but every time she has it, she throws up later that evening.

When Carrigan was 4-5 months she started wearing the same size diaper as Gavin. Those are now too tight around her chubby thighs so she is a size bigger than him. Gavin wears a size 3, Carrigan a size 4.

I have tried putting her to bed without being swaddled, but she doesn't stay asleep long. She has yet to give me a full 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep.

She can pull up on toys and her crib, but has no idea she needs to hang on.

She will get up on her knees and rock back and forth. Gavin will have a shadow soon enough!

Carrigan's favorite things are animals, being outside, baths and getting her hands washed. If she is tired, she cries when being taken away from any one of these things.

Levi says she is squeezable. The first thing he does to her in the mornings and when he comes home from work is give her a "big squeeze." She gives a loud grunt then huge grin when he does it to her. Super Cute!


I can't get enough of her! In 5 months she will be a 1 yr old and her babyhood will be behind her. She is in such a FUN stage!! I thank God every day that I am so lucky to be her mother and spend every day soaking her up.

Chatter Box

When siblings are born, usually the older child regresses in some way. Gavin's was speech. He still said most of his usual words, but he used them less often. A few months went by and he might have only learned one new word. I read on-line about mothers saying their little boys didn't do much talking until they turned 2, so I knew it would all come with time.

It seems that time has finally come! Over the past few weeks he has learned so many new words that it is hard to keep up with. My favorites are when he points to his dimple and says "dimple" and when we watch American Idol he says "Gokey."

The best part is that he is combining words. If he sees Levi drive away in his car, he will say "Dada bye bye" and "Car go go" He even said his first "sentence" a few mornings ago. We went outside and he pointed at my car and said, "Go Momma Car." I love it!

*At a Dr visit a few days ago, he weighed 21.8 lbs. Its a little frustrating that all the extra food and drinks he has been taking in hasn't been putting on any extra pounds, BUT the boy has a tiny belly on him for the first time in his little life!*

Her teeth have come in all the way since I took these, but as hard as it is to take a picture of her little teeth, I'll settle for sharing these. :)

The Wonder Place

I ran across a blog today that talked about 'The Wonder Place' in Little Rock. It is for children 8 and under. I had never heard of it, so I wanted to share it with fellow blog mommies with little ones like my own. We will have to check it out soon!

On August 5, 2006, my bridesmaids walked down the isle to "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes." Then I, the bride, walked down the isle to, "So This Is Love." Yes, those are songs from Cinderella.

One year later we had our little boy. Levi would sweep him up, dance around the living room, then say, "Bubbas, Daddy needs a little girl to dance with. You won't let me do this with you for very long."

Here we are nearly 3 years after I walked down the isle to meet my groom. In the Cd player was the Cinderella Cd used in our wedding.

.....and Daddy danced with his baby girl.

Splish Splash I was taking a bath

Not too long ago a woman asked me how I am doing with two so young. Before I could get my first word in, she stopped me and said, "Ugh, I don't even want to know. No, I can't imagine." She then grumbled and quickly changed the subject.

I would like to see one event during her rainy Sunday afternoon that was any more glorious than this.

Like any normal little sister, Carrigan was interested in whatever her big brother was playing with. Over and over Levi and I heard Gavin say, "CARRIGAN! UGH!!" It kept us laughing, that's for sure!

I love being their Mommy.
