1 Month to go...

Only one month left until my baby boy is 2. I have so many emotions about losing my baby, but this toddler thing is getting pretty darn fun!

Gavin's fingers haven't been able to shoot a water gun this summer, so when he figured out how to shoot this water bottle, man was he stoked!

Decorating cupcakes with Mommy for Father's Day. Coming in from a dip in the pool.
It just isn't summer until you drink from the water hose.

One of his favorite things right now is to push this stroller up and down the driveway. And with each passing day he loves his sister more and more...

8 Months Old!!!

8 Months!!! That is so old!!! Even at her doctor appointment a couple of weeks ago, the doctor said she is developmentally 9 months... Sigh... My little baby is not so little anymore!

8 Month stats (really 7 1/2 stats):
Weight: 19.6 lbs - 75th percentile
Length: 28 1/2 - 90th percentile - Tall just like her Mommy!
Head Circumference: 45 cm

Carrigan is now an official crawler. For about a month she would pull with her arms and push with her toes. She could get herself anywhere, and fast! Now she does it the "normal" way and loves it!

She also pulls up. Every time we turn around she is standing. It makes us so nervous! Levi and I both want to buy this child a helmet!

She can also stand by herself for a few seconds. A HUGE shocker to us! The Carson girls are famous for walking by 9 months so I guess she is trying join the rest of us!

Carrigan is starting to eat solids little by little. She will not eat anything from a spoon. If she sees one, she closes her eyes, tightens her lips and throws herself back. Well, she will eat mashed potatoes from a spoon, but it is a chore getting the first bite in her mouth.

Things she will eat: mashed potatoes, crackers, corn puff snacks, steamed carrots (only once and were from a garlic pasta) Cheerios, yogurt melts, mac and cheese, mozzarella, spaghetti sauce, cheese sauce --- and ice cream!!

She hasn't been swaddled in about 2 months, but doesn't stay asleep long. She wakes up a kazillion times a night and it takes me nursing her to put her back to sleep. I have a plan of getting her to fall asleep by herself but Levi will have to be the one to do it. I am too soft hearted to let her be fussy for more than 2 minutes without picking her up. The "cry it out" method isn't my thing!

Carrigan LOVES being outside. If she thinks you are taking her outside, then walk away from the door, be prepared for a very unhappy baby girl! She also adores animals.

I hate to say it, but I think my daughter is more attached to Gavin than she is to me. If she is awake when Gavin takes his nap, she is as fussy as can be. I must be boring! She is a social little butterfly too. When we take her out and she sees another baby/toddler she does everything she can to get to them. She is the opposite of her brother in SO many ways!

Standing ALL BY HERSELF! Levi said he saw her do it yesterday too. I walked into the living room, gasped, yelled for Levi to come look and grabbed my camera as quickly as I could!

Her first wedgie!

Waving ByeBye

Here is Carrigan waving byebye! She is only doing it for a moment, but it will most likely take me weeks to get my 7 month old to wave on command for the camera again. My next goal is to catch her clapping.

Oh and yes, Carrigan is naked. Gavin was too... in case you can't tell, that's him saying byebye to me behind the camera. NaNa had just bought a little pool for the two of them and I was proud of myself for blowing it up (yes with my own two lungs) in one sitting that I stripped them down and had them go for a swim before bed.

"DaDa"

Here is Carrigan saying "Dada"! She can also say "Uh Oh" but I have yet to get it on video. I can't wait until she says Momma!!

The Wonder Place is...

Wonderful!!
Levi's mom and nephew William came for a visit and one place we had to check out was The Wonder Place. I wish I would have taken pictures of more of the play areas because it is sooo worth checking out! They have an area just for babies and toddlers, a room for building with blocks, shaping rubber bands, Velcro, etc... You can go shopping at the Farmer's Market, then cook in the restaurant, be a vet and look at real x-rays or put on a puppet show on a stage. There is an art room where you can do a themed art project. There are also slides and tunnels, light, water and sand tables, and so much more!! It is for ages 8 and under. They had tons of things Gavin and even Carrigan could enjoy.

We have decided to come back for Gavin's 2nd birthday, which my goodness, is only 1 month away!!Daddy and Gavin playing with trains. NaNa trying to show Gavin that the air tubes are nothing to be afraid of!

A Visit From Grandma

Grandpa, it's me, Carrigan. Mommy has been too busy with Gavin lately to tell you about Grandma's visit. We took Bubbas to the Doctor today and he has Roseola. It looks like it's up to me to tell you about all the fun we had!

One of my favorite things we did was swim in the pool at the hotel. I splashed and splashed! Do you see my Bubbas swimming all by himself in this picture? He was a natural!

Another thing I loved was trying on the clothes Grandma bought for me. Don't I look cute in my new outfit? Grandma also got to see that I am in no way, shape or form lacking in personality!

We all spent some time outside getting to know William. We also went to a park and wow, did one have a huge slide! Daddy took Gavin down and he wanted to do it again and again! Daddy was too scared, though. hehe. All the boys climbed up on this tank. They looked like Manly Men to me! Gavin wants me to show you his summer haircut. Mommy and Daddy thinks he looks too much like a big boy and can't wait for it to grow back out!

When we got home from having breakfast with Grandma and William, Gavin got straight to work building a Vacation Home for you and Grandma so you can come visit more! I hope you enjoyed all the pictures and hope to see you soon!
